HOSTS: CANADA & ARGENTINA
DATE: STARTING APRIL 2020
When We Return is a multi-faceted online Art & Cultural Project motivated by the commitment assumed between Argentina and Canada at the Cultural Summits of the Americas, as well as, the sustained relationship and support from the Canadian Embassy in Argentina for multiple cultural activities and in response to the current world situation regarding COVID19.
We are experiencing an exceptional situation in which the maximum expression of globalization paradoxically faces social isolation, where uncertainty is the dominant sentiment, where solidarity meets estrangement, where political leaders need to lead rather than to please, where the world economic powers could collapse and where the most vulnerable populations are extremely fragile and when protecting them is a complex endeavour.
In this new paradigm, artists have a lot to say, to share, to express, to offer, and raise questions seeking for new answers.
Our goal through this online project is to contribute to new and productive future exchanges in the field of arts, culture and education. To establish a solid dialogue with the public, communicate different views, practices and narratives of the diverse artistic communities of Canada, Argentina and other countries in the region as experiences worth comparing to generate actions that lead to the construction of increasingly democratic and pluralistic societies, creating new opportunities to evolve, share and build a new future.
